Code Cyprus is an annual event that celebrates coding and aims to inspire more teenagers to take an interest in programming. The theme for Code Cyprus 2024 is ‘Coding for All‘ presenting an inclusive approach to promoting all skills and applications related to programming, including problem solving, analytical thinking, and creating thinking.
The event hosted various themed workshops related with game development, game-based learning, visual programming, programming robots, as well as a keynote from the co-founders of one of the most successful high-tech startups in Cyprus. Listening to inspiring stories, discussing with existing Computing students at UCLan Cyprus, and playtesting the TIME2ACT@SD VR SDG Game ‘Sustainable Futures’ were amongst the highlights of this year’s event!
Students of different ages had the opportunity to play the SDG VR game using Oculus Meta Quest VR headsets, explore the virtual game environment, complete learning tasks to learn about the SDGs and get informed on the goals of the project.
